The businessman Emerson Rodrigues Esteves, who was ahead of negotiations with Eaton Corporation for the purchase of Blinda, of all its tools and machinery, has just announced that the last stage of the rights section of the brand was concluded and Polar Componentes Brasil is officially the brand’s owner.
Blinda, 60 years in the domestic market, now under the direction of Polar Components Group, resumes the manufacture of equipment Ex explosion proof as junction boxes, passage/distribution boxes, junction boxes, grounding systems, sirens, manufactured with copper-free aluminum, which is totally free of impurities. The Ex equipment with increased safety (Ex e) or with protection by enclosure (Ex t) as command buttons, control units, junction boxes and distribution panels, are manufactured in fibreglass reinforced polyester or stainless steel, with 1st line components, imported from Germany.
Dedicated component stock is available for manufacture and assembly, including for customised projects. The list of products manufactured by Blinda for hazardous areas is extensive and is duly certified or in final phase of certification by independent bodies, accredited by Inmetro.
According to Emerson Esteves, the ultimate goal is to offer customers and consumers protection and security that ensure a high level of regulatory and legal compliance of the facilities in classified areas. Emerson also reports that the acquisition of Blinda is aligned with Polar’s business plan, which is increasing its product portfolio for hazardous areas, either from its own brand Blinda or from the best global manufacturers.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022, Polar is one of the main suppliers to the offshore industry in Brazil, taking another step up after its internationalization in 2017. It recently acquired from Eaton all of Blinda’s tooling, machinery and equipment manufacturing rights , one of the main Brazilian Ex “d” industries, over the last 60 years.
Polar’s new management model comprises the division of its operations into three Business Units. They are Polar Distribution, Indústrias Blinda and Polar International, with the objective of ensuring that each one of them has adequate management and focus.
Polar Distribution is responsible for all Brazilian branches, dedicated to stocking and distributing product lines.
Polar International, based in London/UK, is the best choice for customers who prefer to handle the import process on their own, but can still rely on Polar’s national experience.
Indústria Blinda has been recognized since 1962 for its high quality Ex “d” (explosion-proof) equipment offering, including Crouse Hinds CEAG panels, push buttons, junction boxes and “Engineered” control units to Order” (ETO), which are part of Eaton’s CAP (Certified Assembly Partner) technology transfer program to Polar.
With the implementation of this new business model, Grupo Polar Components is already benefiting from the synergy between its Business Units to offer its customers the very best.
Polar Components Group is pleased to announce that negotiations with Eaton Group to resume local manufacturing of BLINDA´s hazardous locations equipment were concluded in August 2021. Blinda manufacturing plant will be up and running during the first semester of 2022.
